Istanbul Aydın University (IAU) has 7 campuses located on both sides of Istanbul which spreads over Europe and Asia continents. Florya Campus, the main site of the university, is only 10 minutes away from the International Ataturk Airport. Bachelor’s and vocational programs, as well as distance learning programs, are taught at the Florya Campus. Language learning centre takes place in Bahçelievler Campus which is in 6 km from the main campus. Each year it teaches around 2500 students, who learn foreign languages, English, Spanish, Russian being the leading ones.

We also have Turkish Language Teaching, Application and Research Centre (TÖMER) which aims to teach Turkish language to foreigners by using contemporary instructional techniques in a contemporary environment. The level of Turkish language of our TÖMER graduates will enable them to move on to their university education in Turkish.

Facilities

Istanbul Aydin University aims to offer the students an academic environment supported by social and cultural activities, a joyful and active life on the campus.
The university is built on an outdoor area of about 400,000 m2 which encloses a 150,000 m2 indoor area, and provides the students with modern and technological opportunities like spacious classrooms, amphitheatres, laboratories, libraries, and conference halls.
Technical and vocational programs which require applicational instructions are given in realistic atmosphere of laboratories, ateliers and studies under the guidance of academic staff. By this way, the students get familiarity with their future occupational environments, like food laboratories; fashion, textile, automotive and jewellery ateliers; graphic, photography, tv, radio studios; and sound and post-production studios.
Along with the technical and vocational environment, the students are also provided with rich social facilities like restaurants, cafeterias, tv and music rooms, club rooms and infirmaries.
The campuses, which are closely in touch with the social and professional circumference, can be easily and economically reached by public transportation. Open and closed car parking facilities are also available, for people who prefer to access the campus sites by private vehicles.

Cost of Living

A student wishing to travel and lead an active social life should expect to spend a few hundred Turkish Liras per month.

At a minimum, students need 300-500TL (150-250 EUR) per month excluding housing costs (accommodation).

Applications

Application and Registration Process

After you have submitted your online application (http://www.aydin.edu.tr/ys/index.html), you will have received a “Provisional Acceptance Letter.” With that letter you need to apply to the nearest Turkish Embassy to obtain a “Student Visa.”
Since the student visa is valid for one month, you need to obtain the student visa in accordance with the registration dates given below. If you enter Turkey with a tourist visa your application for residence permit to the Turkish Security Forces will not be accepted. Therefore, please apply to the Turkish Embassy in your country for a student visa and enter Turkey with that visa rather than a tourist visa.

After you have arrived Turkey, you need to apply, in person, to the Student Registration Office (Florya Campus, F Block, -1 Floor) of IAU between 1st July – 30th September 2012. You need to submit the following documents for the registration.

For students, who will be applying for associate and bachelor degree:

The original of the high school (lycee) diploma or a copy endorsed by a notary
The original of the high school (lycee) transcript or a copy endorsed by a notary
Equivalency Paper (denklik belgesi) to be stamped by either a Turkish Embassy in your country or if you are already in Turkey, Provincial Directorate of Ministry of Education in Turkey (Address: Ankara Caddesi No.2 A Block, Cağaloğlu, Fatih – Istanbul).
Photocopy of the relevant pages of your passport
Six recently taken passport-size photographs

For students, who will be applying for master degree:

The original of the undergraduate diploma or a copy endorsed by a notary
The original of the undergraduate transcript or a copy endorsed by a notary
Photocopy of the relevant pages of your passport

For students, who will be applying for PhD degree:

In order for you to complete the final registration, you need to either pay the total of your first year’s tuition fee and/or the first installment of it. You can make the payment at our Accountancy Department. As you know, international students are eligible to enjoy the 50% discount for the tuition fee.
