Yet come to visit us and you will find a young, dynamic institution with ultra-modern facilities and the latest teaching in the art, science, techniques, and culture of hospitality management. We select smart, passionate people and educate them to become leaders with a deep sense of social responsibility, an innovative spirit and a constant striving for excellence, rooted in the history and values of hospitality. We have developed an active learning approach based on group work, case studies and experimentation, both on and off-campus, at school and on the job.  You will experience a truly international education, with over 90 nationalities represented among our 2,200 students.

EHL offers 3 accredited courses: The Bachelor of Science in International Hospitality Management (internationally renowned and considered as one of the best in the world by the industry. It is open to candidates who are successful during the EHL selection process. There are two yearly intakes, one in September and one in February, also including two work experiences). The Master of Science in Global Hospitality Management (this program was born out of one aspiration shared by 3 prestigious academic universities based across 3 continents – Europe, Asia and USA – to educate the next generation of global hospitality leaders, ready to shape the future development of the hospitality industry) and the Executive MBA in Hospitality Administration (this full-time program is highly personalized. It attracts experienced professionals from diverse backgrounds, artists and scientists, thinkers and doers, all driven by a desire for change. You will acquire the solid financial and management skills that will prepare you to be a leader in any hospitality-related business).

For young students wishing to gain an insight into EHL, they are able to attend the Summer Academy and become a student for a week. We have designed this program of fun, hands-on workshops to introduce you to the wide range of career opportunities available in the hotel and catering industry.

When you enter the world of the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne, you immediately feel the energy and enthusiasm, a sense of shared purpose. It is a place where everyone is different yet everyone feels at home. Walk down the main hallway of the school and you will hear over ten different languages being spoken – a microcosm of the hospitality industry itself. The young men and women who make up the student body are learning not only to be successful managers for tomorrow's international hospitality industry, but also to transmit the century-old EHL tradition of European hospitality, savoir-faire and savoir vivre. No matter where in the world your career will take you, the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne’s name is admired and respected.

Case Study

Silvia Berto (EMBA 2005)

Director of Architecture, Planning, Design & Development at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. Orlando, U.S.A.

Becoming an architect had always been my dream. Coming from a hotel family allowed me to appreciate just how influential the architecture of a space is to a guest’s experience. It also allowed me to experience first-hand the dedication and passion needed to work in hospitality and the rewards that customer satisfaction can bring.

With these two influences on my early life it is not surprising that I chose to work in hospitality. Studying in detail the business skills and managerial knowledge necessary for the hospitality industry was integral to my personal development and allowed me to complement my prior training as an architect. EHL Master’s program was the gateway to my career in Hyatt International and for this I will always be grateful to EHL. “Ever since I was a child growing up in Italy, I have been fascinated by the magnificent buildings. They combine both beauty and functionality, two themes that are central to my work within the hospitality industry.”
