World Education Fair is the biggest international education exhibition of its kind in Bulgaria, taking place in Sofia, Plovdiv, Burgas and Varna in October 2016.

Since 2003, the event has attracted young people, which are interested to study abroad for their secondary or higher education in distinguished international institutions. Thanks to the project, foreign educational institutions are promoted and popularized in Bulgaria.

Reasons to Attend

The Fair takes place twice a year. Each edition is very popular and is the biggest of its kind educational fair in Bulgaria, that attracts about 10 000 students annually. The event has extensive database of more than 50,000 potential students and it is known for its quality. The main tool is the registration system, which generated all interested future students thanks to the massive promotional campaign on national scale. One of the biggest advantages is that WEF has more than 70 % pre-registration of visitors, which speaks for the effectiveness of the made promotional campaign. The campaign covers all major media channels targeting both students and their parents. The effectiveness of the promotional campaign is carefully analyzed after each event and thus the strongest channels are enhanced. Besides the new leads from each campaign, additionally gathered valuable contacts from local events and school visits are visiting the events.

Having that already at hand, when the event takes place each participant receives a scanner and thus keeps track on every prospect that stops by its booth/table. The visitors on the other hand, after their registration, receive a ticket, which contains information about the study programs that the student is interested in so that the perfect match with the university is made. After the fair the participants receive full database with all the leads with their personal details for follow-up activities.

World Education Fair is the strongest brand in Bulgaria for education abroad and attracts students interested in bachelors, master and MBA studies. Being known for high visitors’ rate and many universities participating from Europe and USA, the event is sold out about months in advance. The location is carefully selected to accommodate as many universities as possible in one hall, so that everyone feels comfortable and that all visitors have easy access. The central location of the venue gives of course additional advantage. The fair taks place in 4 of the biggest cities in Bulgaria – Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna and Burgas.

Market Overview

World Education Fair is an ideal event for exhibitors – as many as half of Bulgaria's prospective university students apply abroad. A very well organised event with a significant number of interested and informed potential students.

This was a superbly organised event and I very much look forward to working with you again.

Matthew J. Homewood
Nottingham Law School

Well organized and well attended so PR and Advertising must be good. I think the process of students lining up and then sitting down to talk with the representatives is marvelous. You make much better contacts this way.

Melanee Crist
Truman State University, USA

Well organized, busy throughout, well staffed. Visitors were well informed and of a high quality. My only concern was that some Post Grad students had been given details of our MA programmes as a potential match to their enquires, this resulted in a little confusion. Excellent system and well managed. Overall I was most impressed with the quality of the fair.
