29 November 2013 - 30 November 2013

The Mauritius International Education Fair will take place in November. The Mauritius education event is usually held in November just after the completion of the HSc examinations. This provides an opportunity to prospective students to gather information about study areas and take early informed decisions.

The Campus Abroad International Education Fair is amongst the largest education fairs in Mauritius. It is also one of the oldest education fairs in the country and has been attracting a number of Universities from across the world. Our fair is strategically held as soon as the HSC examinations have concluded and students are looking out for options around the world. Our last event had participants from countries around the world including the UK, France, Switzerland, Canada, Malaysia, India, China, Hungary and Cyprus.

Reasons to Attend

In 2010, a total of 3,500 Mauritians student opted for higher studies overseas. Participating institutions from Australia, Canada, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Switzerland, UK, USA, and more showcase a wide variety of courses: undergraduate, postgraduate, pathways, technical, professional and vocational.

Market Overview

Despite being one of Africa’s most developed countries, Mauritius still has only a few institutions where students can pursue higher education. As a result, most Mauritian students look as pursuing their educational dreams abroad. There are about 5000 Mauritian students who go abroad to study each year.

Mauritius is an island nation of 1.2 millions inhabitants in the Indian Ocean. Mauritius has a multicultural society in which the cultures blend and mix harmoniously. The population is made up of people of Indian, African, Chinese and French origin.

The University of Glamorgan has attended the Mauritius recruitment fair every year since 2007. During this period, we have seen the number of institutions increase and most definitely the number of applicants and families who attend increase. This fair has been the University's main recruitment tool in Mauritius and it has been highly successful. It give us a high level of exposure which has resulted in a significant increase not only in applications but also actual enrolments. We have already confirmed our attendance at the next fair.

Malcolm Taylor, Head of International Recruitment
University of Glamorgan

I had attended the fair that was organized by Campus Abroad  last year at hotel Labourdonais at Port Louis. I had some great moments there viewing all the universities present. There were many universities from different countries, which widen my view to go and study abroad. But I had already in mind to study in Mauritius. I had a great time viewing the universities and took the opportunity to ask a few questions. That helped me to change my decision and I opted to study abroad. [Kunal Ghurbhurrun gained access to a UK university as a result]

Kunal Ghurbhurrun

We decided to take paurt in the education exhibition in Port-Louise, last November. We were not disappointed, as this event confirmed us in our belief that we were dealing with an extremely well run and well organised student recruitment agency. As a result of this event, we had our first 2 students.

Mr Yves Milhavy, Head of International Recruitment and Special Projects
University of Wolverhampton

Working with the University Fairs / Studycentral team is easy, pleasant and fun. They do what we all should: offer sufficient and relevant information, they do it quickly and are very efficient.
